Despite snowy and rainy weather forecast, I headed out to check if I can get few good pictures of the giant Buddha Dordhenma at Kuensel Phodrang in Thimphu. At almost 1ºC, it was freezing. My fingers were numb. I occasionally pressed wrong buttons on my camera. It refused to focus on main subject as snow flakes continued to disturb its focus area.
I was at least able to get few pictures of Buddha Dordhenma with its reflection on its wet foreground.
I could see many excited visitors experiencing the snowfall. They were literally shouting and screaming with excitement. While they were most probably seeing snow flakes for the first time, I thought the guides or leaders should have been educated on do(s) and don’t(s) of host country.
Without any sign of weather getting better, I returned home with hopes of getting better pictures some other time.
At the time of writing this post, whole valley of Thimphu was getting the first snowfall of 2019.
