The winter is a season when flowers give way to extreme cold and dry period of the year. The deciduous trees retire and wear deserting look without any leaves on them. The lush green grass become dry. The shrubs and smaller plants also become deserted without leaves.
The surroundings may look dry empty. But if we look closer, we find beauty in all little things. The dry leaves, petals and plants look beautiful even during dry season. Every time, I appreciate and admire how nature prepared the transition of seasons. This is the season when farmers take long break from their daily toils. It will be only few months before tender shoots and attractive petals take over the current season.
If winter is here, spring shouldn’t be very far from now. I dedicate the following close-up pictures to dry and cold season. This winter has been extremely cold here in Thimphu.
It bears its own beauty. If we have the sense of appreciation, we get to enjoy beauty little things.
The leaves beautifully hang from the main stem. The colors are so attractive!
Although other leaves gave up, this leave stood the harsh winter weather. It enjoys the warmth of winter sun without worries of falling in shade of other taller and bigger leaves.
After completing task of flowering, fruiting and dispersing its seeds, this dry artemisia decorate surroundings.
We can’t undermine anything for they bear their own beauty.
If we narrow our focus on single element, we would definitely get better view to appreciate individually.
It is noteworthy to occasionally take some break and appreciate nature’s creativity around us.
